This is done in collaboration with the Department of Curriculum Development and Evaluation in order to cater for academic needs of learners with SEN of all categories. Modification is done to the existing curriculum through specialized expertise of special education officers and specialist teachers. In addition, relevant enrichment programmes are developed to enhance the curriculum for learners with SEN. Teachers are supported and empowered through in service training; this includes intervention strategies for SEN, curriculum strategies for adaptation and modification for all the subjects. This adaptation and modification is done at school and national level.
Enrichment Programmes
These programmes form part of the intervention strategies developed and implemented for learners with SEN who may be educated in either special or mainstream schools. These are meant to augment and or enhance accessibility of the regular curriculum followed by these learners as well. The following programmes have been developed for learners with varying forms of disabilities:

Stimulation programme for learners with hearing impairment
Stimulation programmes for learners with intellectual disabilities
Programme activities for learners with vision impairment
Programme activities for learners with speech impairment
