The Division of Planning, Statistics and Research is responsible for providing specialised educational planning, co-ordinating it with national macro-economic planning. It also collects and analyses information about the education sector to inform decision-making.

It is made up of five Units: Planning, Education Statistics, Educational Research, School Registration and Information Technology (IT).
